Namings

Today, many parents choose not to Baptise or Christen their children, because they have no active involvement with a Church, or have non-religious beliefs.  But not to have a ceremony however would be to ignore what is a very significant event in family life – ‘the arrival of a new family member’

Parents who chose to have a civil Wedding Ceremony conducted by a celebrant may also choose to have a non religious Naming Day for their child.  In doing so they will allow their child to choose his/her religious faith as they get older.

A Naming Day is a unique occasion for everyone to feel involved, as they pledge their love and support for you and your child.  The ceremony is also designed to announce the safe arrival of your child and to invite friends and family to meet, to express their wishes and hopes for the future and to officially welcome and celebrate your child.  A Naming Ceremony is very much a time at which the involvement of different people in the life of the child is recognised.

Naming Ceremonies have become a popular alternative to a church Christening or Baptism.  It is usually an informal ceremony, though still very important and delightful occasion.

Some children are named shortly after birth, but the first birthday is a popular time for others.  Sometimes, other children in the family are named at the same time.  The age of the child or person is not critical, an adult can also be named.

Naming Ceremonies are tailored to each individual, by working together we will prepare a unique and beautiful ceremony, which sincerely expresses your emotions and hopes for the future.  Certificates are presented to the Child and the Godparents/Mentors.
